With the re-launch of this blog on a different hosting platform, comes the ability to include much more interactive and media-rich content in my posts. With these new capabilities, I have the opportunity to far better demonstrate how the Internet can be easily used by Real Estate Agents to showcase their listings and themselves as business people to potential buyers and clients, and so, I want to introduce a new series of blog posts that will provide Real Estate Agents information on Internet Marketing Tips & Tools.

thinglink.com | images made interactive for Real Estate Marketing
The internet is an interactive place these days – people get absorbed in engaging & interactive content. Just look at how much time people spend on Facebook… now imagine you could get people to engage with you as a Real Estate Agent or with your Listings like that… step-in thinglink.com — a cool web tool that allows you to upload an image and make it interactive by including media-rich content within the image and by linking-out to other content — and best of all thinglink is FREE to use! At thinglink.com/learn you can learn all about it, but here I want to show you an example of how thinglink.com can be used by Real Estate Agents.
thinglink.com example | Lots for Sale at Crescent Oaks in South Bend IN
My example is how to bring-to-market Lots for Sale in a Sub-Dvision. Typically, there is not many great photographs or other content that can be used to showcase an undeveloped Lot. But, introduce a tool like thinglink.com and I think it is possible to engage potential buyers… hover your cursor over the image to engage with it.
In the Crescent Oaks example above, a potential buyers can be engaged by the use of all the tagged content. A buyer can see all the available Lots via the map and see a Photo of each single Lot within the overall context of the development + some images of the shared parts of the development too. The buyer can link-out to more information on the HOA or to the Listing Agents’ websites. To find-out exactly where this new sub-division is located, the buyer has a Google Maps pop-out within the image. The possibilities don’t stop there… you could include a YouTube Video (perhaps a drive-around OR an interview with the developer or an existing home owner on why this is a great new neighborhood to live in) — see this thinglink blog post for all the content possibilities…
thinglink.com | deployment of the interactive image
Once the thinglink image is tagged with all the interactive content, it can be easily shared or embedded in a variety of ways.
For instance, in the example of Crescent Oaks development in South Bend, the Listing Agents could create a website to promote the development and the thinglink interactive image could be embedded to feature on the hompage of the website (see example). If a Lot is sold, the image can be quickly updated with a “SOLD” sign via the thing link website. Or, the thinglink image could be included in an Agents’ blog as it has been here.
thinglink works great with Twitter as the interactive image not only appears within a twitter feed, but it is also interactive on twitter.com
thinglink images can also be shared via Facebook, Google+, Pinterest and Email, by driving people to the the creators thinglink branded channel page where the potential buyer or client can comment on the image or share the content themselves.
So there you have it — a web tool that Real Estate Professionals could deploy to better engage potential buyers and impress their current and future clients with. Realtors, how do you think you could use thinglink in your business? Let me know via the comments, or even better paste a link to your own thinglink image.
