WSJ Article | The best photos will sell your home
Today, another article appeared shouting-out the vital importance that high quality Real Estate Photos play in getting a Listing SOLD!
Amy Hoak, a Chicago based journalist for the Wall Street Journal’s MarketWatch.com website, pitched the article at Home Owners, trying to guide them towards making sure their chosen Real Estate Professional is using great photography to bring a home to market.
Read it for yourself… but here are 3 things that stood out to me:
1. The National Assocation of Realtors reports that “98% of home buyers who searched for a home online said that photos were among the most useful features of real-estate websites.”
Yet, the vast majority of Real Estate Agents are still using ordinary and amateur photography to bring their clients’ Homes to the Real Estate Market.
2. The impact that Professional Real Estate Photos have is clear… “Listings with photos taken by professionals have about 61% more views than other homes.” Hoak uses a couple of examples to illustrate the drastic impact this can play in getting a Home Sold.
3. An insight on why many homeowners aren’t more critical of how their listing agent presents their home online… “‘I think that homeowners aren’t as demanding as they should be because they never write a check to the agent—it all comes out at closing,’” … People should be more particular, demanding quality pictures to market the home.”
This is key! For many Home Sellers, a second chance at bringing your home to market with great photography is too little too late — think about the costs of not getting your home sold in a timely manner — get it right the first time!
Slowly but surely, more Real Estate Agents and Home Sellers are realizing what most Home Buyers already know — Great Photos Help Get Homes SOLD! Don’t let a few hundred dollars in photography costs hinder the sale of Home worth considerably more!
